Even if I had to pay 60% of the card value in taxes, It wouldn't bother me. It's still cheaper than buying it in a store. And I can always buy more plexes in jita if I should ever need them.
Pretty much this....
I will cherish mine and enjoy playing with the card, after she dies from old age i will just keep her as a souvenir from CCP :) |

Ah well i almost did all of the paper work today, the only thing left is to go trough notary, go to the local fedex office again so they can send my **** to the fedex warehouse and be cleared from customs and see if there will be any additional charges. Its clearly a "bermuda triangle" here :)
Neverdeless big thanks to CCP Games and nVidia you guys are simply AWESOME <3 |

Ergentii Juhar wrote:My card is stuck in customs. More precisely, I had a phone call from a courier company's customs empoyee, who said he would make me an offer for taxes&duties, postage cost to my home, and - of course - payment for his services. This is a known - and partly legal - sort of thing. These ppl make a living by charging outrageously high amounts, just to pass ppl's stuff through customs. (Of course, the customs officers cooperate with them). Typical charge is 80EUR, for simple packages like this.
(And of course, it would have been avoided if you had posted the cards to EU winners, from within EU. Anyway.)
In short, to handle this affair, I need what you promised but never delivered: tracking number for my card and which courier service handles the package. Please, e-mail it to me ASAP.
If you want me to petition for it, just say so.
I need the tracking number to find the specifc customs office the card now is, to speak directly with the customs officials - unfortunately, each courier service can decide where it shall pass customs, and they make a hefty profit with this scheme just because ppl like me live 500km away from the capital, where they have their customs sevice.
If you don't bother helping me, I won't have any means of finding this package and - since I won't pay 23% VAT, about 3.5% import tax (added to whatever base price they decide is the correct one) plus about 80EUR (typical charge for their services) I will ask them to return it to you. (They'll do it anyway, after a few days if I don't pay them).
So, tracking number plz!!!
[edit] I contacted customer support through e-mail. Waiting for their answer now.
Don't worry mate, i'm in simmilar position as you are... at least "Flying Cargo Bulgaria ltd." (sub contractor for Fedex) gave me all the documentation via e-mail and i had to go around my city making some documents and getting EORI number so they can clear the card from customs. They are still pretty quiet if i have to pay them for brokering the card from customs. |

Ethum wrote:I just got called by FEDEX in regards to that videocard and it seems that all the customs taxes and all the hash hash is payed by the sender. To be frank that was really surprising since i was expected to pay a lot of taxes for the cards but overall i`m a happy that all this panned out very well. CCP then time when you do these sort of promotions please get in touch with Nvidia and tell them to send the mails after the cards are being shipped. Cos all the GMs stated that Nvidia will get in touch but i never seen a mail from them
Not bad mate,
i just recieved yet another mail informing me i have to make a bank transfer to customs for 30 Euro (20% of the card's value) and i'm on my way to pay it. Quick 2 mins search on google says a lot of bad PR for my local Fedex licensee and i will probably regret paying, but **** it. |

Well i paid mine, i got tired of calling and e-mailing, and pretty much dealing with the sheer laziness of FedEx Bulgaria employees. |

Greedr wrote:It seems that i will not get mine.... All costs for getting it from customs are almost as same as buying one off market(import tax+shipping company fee+me getting to capital = ~150EUR) I'm trying to get a contact in nvidia to change shipping address to a friend in Holland
Yeah that **** is beyond retardation, make a final call and tell them to send a request to the sender that he will pay, as it is in every other country in the world. I guess FedEx deserves the bad rep in our countries and i hope i never hear or use them again here. |
